Renewable Energy
Renewable energy is the energy produced through the use of renewable sources. These include things such as the sun, wind, and naturally running water. When a source of energy is refered to as renewable, it means that it cannot be completely depleted within a reasonable human time frame, or that it can be renewed within a reasonable amount of time. Renewable energy is often seen as a more ecologically freindly source of energy, as non-renewable energy, such as the burning of fossil fuels, often leads to polution, global warming, and climate change. Even so, non-renewable sources, specifically fossil fuels, are still the main source electricity. This is mainly due ot the fact that the buring of fossil fuels is one of the most fuel effecient means of producing energy and that large portions of country's economies are based on the fossil fuel economy. Despite these facts, with the worsening of global warming and climate change, and the rise in awarness of these issues, more and more investment has begun to be put into the use of renewable energy sources.
Purpose
The purpose of this website to provide information on different types of renewable energy. Information such as how they work, what resources they use, the amount of energy they provide, and other such information. This website is not completely comprehensive, but, hopefully, it will be able to inform and interest, or maybe even encourage further research into renewable energy sources.

Different Types
There are myriad diffent types of renewable energy. This site will only be covering two. These two are solar power and wind power. Other sources of renewable energy include sources such as hydroelectric power, and nuclear power, though nuclear power is only considered a renewable energy source by some. Each page of this site will teach about the general information of the two energy sources specified above, how it works, and some statistics relating to that source.
